petite cocktail dresses

Vintage 50s/60s lace and Chiffon BLACK cocktail dress $75.00 USD plus shipping. US Seller, International Shipping.

The dress is by "JAY HERBERT, California" and seems to measure like a contemporary "petite" size (15" shoulder to waist in back). It is made of black nylon lace for the bodice with a deeply gathered full skirt in silk chiffon. The bodice is completely lined in black rayon taffeta, which also forms the skirt lining, which is cut as a simple A-line and hangs separately from the silk layer. The dress features a fitted tank strap bodice that plunges extremely LOW in the back. The dress zips up the center back with a metal zipper. The dress is clean and sturdy. The only issue is that the very full gathered silk overskirt, which has the requisite deep hem, hangs about 2" shorter than the taffeta lining (but quite long nevertheless). Rather than let down the lovely, perfectly hemmed top layer, the buyer would probably want to shorten the underskirt to the wearer's exact needs. Satin ribbon belt (not original) is included. The dress was styled over a petticoat--not included. petite cocktail dresses
